Chinese Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Health, General Administration of Customs and the State Administration of Work Safety have jointly issued an announcement on September 17, announcing that ‘2-Chlorophenyl cyclopentyl ketone’ (CAS No.: 6740-85-8) is controlled as the Category I of Precursor Chemical in China, according to ‘Regulations on the Administration of Precursor Chemicals’ (State Council Decree No 445 of 2005) .

It means, manufacturer, trading, purchasing, transportation, import and export of the chemical will require special Licenses from China government, otherwise the company may face penalty upto 10 times of the goods’ value, and even criminal penalties:

Manufacturers and distributors shall respectively apply to their provincial administration of work safety for manufacturing and distributing licenses;

Purchasers and transporters shall apply to the public security organs for purchasing and transporting permits;

Importers and exporters of the chemical shall apply the licenses to the commerce authorities, and accept the international verification if necessary.
