(NEW)Taiwan Updated Existing Chemical Substances Inventory Now Available on CSNN. (Dec 22, 2012)
The NCSR Office completed updating the existing chemical substances inventory. The updated inventory is now available on the CSNN website. Over 370,000 dossiers covering more than 79,000 substances were notified by 5,500 companies. The updated Existing chemical substances inventory will provide a solid foundation for the future development of chemical management in Taiwan.
Types of substances included in the Existing chemical substances inventory includes well-defined substances (>70%), polymer and UVCB substances, etc. Approximately 40% of the nominated chemical substances are handled in quantities over 1 tonne per year. Also the inventory identifies 19,000 existing chemical substances possessing GHS hazards. Additionally, less than 1% of all substances are listed under data protection.
The updated Existing chemical substances inventory is now available on CSNN websit(http://csnn.cla.gov.tw/content/Substance_home.aspx). Users are able to identify the substances in search fields by entering CAS No., serial number( for substances without CAS number or substances with data protection), or exact chemical substances names in Chinese or English. The inventory was last updated on Dec. 22, 2012.
