On Oct. 31^st, Symposium on Test Method For New Chemical Substance was held at Shanghai.

The symposium was organized by Shanghai Academy of Public Measurement and Sub-committee of Chemical Toxicity Measurement Technology. About 30 people presented in the meeting, including experts from Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine, management from Solid Waste and Chemical Management of China Ministry of Environmental Protection, as well as industrial representatives from BASF, DOW, Huntsman, Bayer, Dupont, Lanxess, etc..

Randis ChemWise, as expert and consultant firm on China new chemical substance management, was invited to the symposium and gave valuable inputs and exchanged ideas with participants.

The symposium revealed that from next year, acute fish toxicity test in China will be mandatory to utilize Rare Minnow (Gobiocypris rarus).

The symposium also revealed that ‘Catalogue of China Strictly Controlled Toxic Chemicals for Import and Export’ (Notice No. [2013]85) will be merged with ‘Catalogue of Priority Hazardous Chemicals (PHCs) for Environment Management’ (Notice No. [2014]33), and the 10k USD fee will not be charged anymore for the import certificate application.
