Taiwan EPA announced on September 26 of 2017 that 13 substances are added as Category 4 Toxic Chemical Substances in Taiwan. Labels for these substances’ container should indicate clearly and obviously in Chinese ‘Prohibited for Use in Food’ and the size should be bigger than 35% of the outer package area. The 13 substances are: Malachite green, 569-64-2; Maleic acid, 110-16-7; Maleic anhydride, 108-31-6; Dulcin, 150-69-6; Potassium bromate, 7758-01-2; DMF, 624-49-7; Benzyl violet 4B, 1694-09-3; Metanil yellow, 587-98-4; Rhodamine B, 81-88-9; Butter Yellow , 60-11-7; Sodium hydroxym; ethanesulfinate, 6035-47-8, 149-44-0; Melamine, 108-78-1; Coumarin, 91-64-5, as well as Chromium carbonyl,13007-92-6.
