Formality for Toxic Chemical Import/export Dramatically Simplified.

December 15 of 2017, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs jointly issued Notice [2017] No. 74, enacted ‘Catalogue of China Strictly Controlled Toxic Chemicals for Import and Export (Ver. 2018)’.

Comparing the Catalogue Ver. 2016, the Ver. 2018 reduced the number of toxic chemicals from 163 to 10. And also, the formality for Import and Export Customs Release Application is dramatically simplified (now, the formality is mainly to write statements for complying with requirements as ruled in Stockholm Convention, Convention on Mercury, Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure).

In the past, application for the Import and Export Customs Release took normally more than 6 months.
